I’ve had a bit of a clear out at home, starting the spring cleaning a little early!

It’s very easy to collect numerous products and samples over the year and hold on to them ‘just in case’ you might use them at some point. Well it’s taken 20-something years, but I’ve finally realised that ‘just in case’ never comes! This is applicable to clothes too, but I haven’t dared to start on those yet.

So whilst I was throwing out all the unnecessary stuff, I decided to make a list of things I actually have really liked, just to remind myself of things I will buy and use, and steer me away from hoarding ‘junk’ products. Then half way through I thought, hey, why not just stick them all in a blog post and I can always refer to them easily! So here they are, my beauty best bits of 2014! (In no particular order!)

DSCN0180 DSCN0200
ESPA Purifying Tea tree Gel – £22.00

I’ve actually had this product as long as I can remember, but I’m never letting it go! It’s soft and kind to skin and works absolute wonders to calm blemishes from the first hint of one arising. It’s not too heavy and is absorbed in to the skin quickly, meaning it’s great for every day use if you like, or just when the need arises.

Golden Glow Illuminating Face Shimmer, from Nourish – £16.00

This isn’t a product I use every day, but mostly on day’s when my skin just feels a little  ‘Blah’! I was actually given oodles of samples of this at an event last year, so I’m well stocked for a while! It’s *secret* ingredients are Active Tonka Bean extract and Aloe Vera, which help to reflect light, repair damaged cells and fight signs of ageing … so not only do you look a little brighter, your skin is getting  little TLC.

DSCN0198Lancôme Advanced Génifique – £59.00

Ahhh Lancôme, where to start?! I love pretty much everything that they produce. I have Lancôme parties hosted by a fantastic friend of mine who is a brand representative and excellent make up artist. This little gem of a product is truly a staple product though. Just the tiniest amount applied morning and evening to clean skin, is all you need for fresh, supple skin and to fight ageing of the skin. It disappears instantly and leaves you with skin like a baby, trust me, try it!

Lancôme Grandiôse Mascara – £24.50

Another Lancôme product, told you I liked them! This is a wide angle fan effect mascara, with a rather specially shaped brush, which makes application so easy. This was recommended to me by my trusty friend at Lancôme, and I’ve been impressed with it ever since, no clumps, long lasting and easy to apply. Tick, tick, tick!

Garnier Nutritionist Caffeine Eye Roll On – £5.23

I’m pretty sure most people have tried this product at some point, and probably many similar. It needs no explanation as to what it does really, simply helps us look more perked up in the mornings! It’s also on sale from Superdrug at the moment, just follow the link above. There’s now an updated version, which tackles dark circles at the same time, with a little help from combining the original with their ‘BB’ product.

Sugar Dust from Bed Head by Tigi – £6.00 – £10.00

This is a bit of a rescue remedy. Use it when you want to absorb any oiliness from the roots of your hair whilst out and about on the move. It can also be used to add volume to your hair, simply sprinkle between layers at the root and give your hair a bit of a tussle! No residue or stickiness, just a problem solved.

Lancôme Teint Miracle – £28.50

I don’t think I’ve mentioned anything from Lancôme just yet …. ! This is the last one though, I promise! My favourite foundation, I made the mistake of straying away from this once and instantly regretted it. It is so light, simple to apply and has great staying power, even though it looks barely there. What more do you need? (Oh, did I mention it’s also an award winner!?)

Ted Baker Body Spray and Body Souffle – £16.00

I love the idea of body soufflé, and I tend to receive one of these sets every year as a gift. The one I’ve linked to is a slightly different scent to the one I have, as I couldn’t find this anymore! However, I’m sure it’s just as nice smelling and the main thing is, the soufflé is a great after bath treat for your skin.

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil  – £7.00 – £10.00 and Aussie Dual Personality Anti-Fizz & Conditioning Milk – £5.00 – £11.00

I use both these products for pretty much the same thing really. The Aussie product is what I usually apply (sparingly!) before drying my hair each morning, this helps take off any fuzz encountered from the heat. The Extraordinary oil is what I then apply afterwards just to control any random fly away hairs! The oil is also great just for adding a bit of shine though, so long as you don’t overdo it! It also includes a UV filter to help protect you daily.

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Shower Gel – £8.10

I’m not even sure if this does much for my skin or not to be honest, but it smells AMAZING! I’m addicted to it, such a great scent to wake up to in your morning shower. I can’t say it’s had a negative effect at all, so I’m going to continue using it purely for the scent alone!

No7 Pampering Dry Skin Oil Body Spray – £9.50

An oldie but a goodie! I remember No7 being a popular brand when I was still at school, probably because we were saving up pocket money and treating ourselves to new budget make-up like grown up’s! Anyway, whilst other products fell by the wayside, this stuck with me. It’s great for blitzing on your legs after a shower, to lock in moisture and make your pins sparkle before heading for a night with the girls.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius – £5.50

This stuff is a miracle worker! Smother all over your tootsies, being generous around the balls of your feet and heels. Then simply pop on the cute pink socks also available from Soap & Glory, and leave to soak in for as long as you wish (I’ve been known to leave them for hours). Et voilà! The softest feet ever are revealed!

Paco Rabanne Lady Million – £65.50

Last but certainly not least, my favourite scent from 2014, I am in fact still using this now! Lady Million is a fresh scent with notes of Honey, Lily of the Valley and Patchouli. I tend to swap as soon as I run out of one perfume, so I’ll probably be onto something else soon, but right now, this is the one!

I hope you enjoyed reading my beauty best bits from the last year, I’m always on the look out for more great finds, so feel free to share any suggestion below and I’ll try give them a go!
