I realise so many people do blog posts like this, so I think it’s only fair that I do the same and share my inspiration for doing what I do! Before I became a blogger, I inadvertently stumbled across bloggers, became addicted to their posts, then suddenly realised that I’d love to do it myself too. I had many reasons for doing so.
I love to learn new things, which is a guaranteed with blogs! Whether it’s reading the posts of others and learning about new products or events, or writing my own and learning new things about coding and techy bits I had no idea about before, you get a great sense of achievement when it all comes together.
I also saw how much fun people were having from running a blog full time, which obviously means they are making a good enough income from it in order to do so. I’m not going to lie, I’d love to aim to be in that position; being able to do something you love from wherever you are in the world and calling it ‘work’, what a thing to aim for!
Finally, I was very sceptical about opening up my private life to people, but at the same time, it is so lovely to have a sort of ‘on-line diary’ that you can share with people when they ask what you’ve been up to. I also love the freedom of a blog and being able to write about an event which you can look back on in years to come and remember in vivid detail because its all stored in individual little snippets online. Handy!
Moving on to my inspiration, here are the blogs I love and read religiously. I highly recommend you check out these leading ladies, you will not regret it! Leave me a comment and let me know which is your favourite?
The Londoner – A British Lifestyle Blog. The first blog I ever read, and still do daily! Rosie is an inspiration in many areas of life, not least her amazing wardrobe. She has a unique way of writing, which always promises laughs.
SilverSpoon London – A Luxury Lifestyle Blog . Angie is THE foodie blogger to follow to find the best restaurants around the globe. She has reviewed hundreds of restaurants from cafe’s, to Michelin Star(ed) establishments, well worth a look.
Cocktails & Caroline – A Foodie Blog. Carolines blog actually looks edible! There are so many great foodie pieces on here, be prepared to get peckish whilst reading this one. Her lovely outfits are a bit of an inspiration too!
Amy Elizabeth Fashion – Shortlisted to win ‘Best New Beauty Blog’ in the 2014 Cosmo Blog Awards AND Shortlisted to win ‘Young Person’s Recognition’ in the 2015 UK Blog Awards! Amy has been very helpful to me in getting started and also offers a range of helpful advice on her blog to suit many others.
So there are my top four, for now! I email a couple of these wonderful bloggers now and again and have to say they are very tolerant with my ‘new blogger’ questions, which I appreciate massively when they take the time to respond to me!
Being a new blogger is tough, and I appreciate every single person around the world who takes the time to read my ramblings! If you’re looking to get started yourself, I would highly recommend it, but be prepared for the amount of time it takes to really get going with your blog. You will find support in hundreds of resources, and the blogging community is a great place to make new friends.
