Meat and Liquor, London

I don’t pretend to have been to a lot of restaurants in London, I do only visit a few times a year, but when I do, Meat and Liquor is top of my list!

I was travelling over to London for another business trip and was pleased to have finally managed to book a room in the Radisson Blu Portman London. It’s usually too busy for me to get in, that and I also tend to book very last minute!

After a speedy check in from the lovely staff at BA (My favourite airline, incase I haven’t mentioned!) we started with an obligatory toast on the way out of the airport.

I had the pleasure of taking ‘Louis’ along with me on this trip, such a great little travel suitcase from Louis Vuitton. My Ugg boots are surprisingly comfortable to travel in also, even though it is only a 35 minute flight!

After a super fast journey, we were soon checking in to the comfort of our hotel. Even better, we were greeted with a lovely surprise from the hotel staff, a little sweet treat of nibbles awaited us, and was promptly devoured!

As soon as we were settled, we headed straight down to the bar to meet up with other friends for a quick catch up, before FINALLY heading out to satisfy our meat cravings!

This particular Meat & Liquor restaurant is located at 74 Welbeck Street, and you had better get down there really early or towards the end of serving, otherwise be prepared to queue for a while outside … this place is popular, and rightly so!

The decor has a kind of gothic feel, whilst being very trendy at the same time, then there’s the obvious ‘american steak house’ theme, with our very own British twist. There are little signs and quirky quotes all around the place, which are sometimes a bit tongue in cheek, but we love it!

As you can see, it’s pretty dark in here, so unfortunately the photo quality isn’t too great, but it makes dining here even more fun! There’s plenty of dark corners to hide in and when your food arrives, trust me, you will need them as things can get pretty messy!

We started with a round of hard hitting cocktails, you can’t really go wrong with whatever you order, but there are certainly different levels of strength, so chose wisely.

Then, it was finally time to move on to the food, oh yes, the best part! I am actually getting huge M&L cravings just writing this post now, lucky I have another London trip planned soon. We had a little play with the menu and our surroundings, then got stuck in!

I’m not even entirely sure what we ordered completely, but I know it included a Dirty Chicken Burger, Onion Rings, Chilli Cheese Fries, a Bacon Cheeseburger and possibly a few more things! Now these pics don’t nearly do it justice, but trust me when I say they are AMAZING! All of it, just everything is amazing! I could quite happily sit here all night and maybe take a little break between orders, then just keep going until they closed the kitchen (Is that wrong?!)

Yum, yum, yum, I can almost smell the tastiness from here! You absolutely have to try this place out if you get chance, it’s quick and delicious and you won’t be disappointed. Check out their website at www.meatliquor.com for all their other locations, they even have a radio station too! Let me know what you think if you get chance to go to any of their restaurants?
