There are few places you can feel freer in Jersey, than sat on it’s sandy shores, looking out to sea.

It’s where I always feel most relaxed, and even more so when there’s food and drink involved!

Now that the sunshine seems to be gradually leaving us and the evenings are getting darker sooner, I thought I’d share a few of my favourite summer outings, just to keep the sunshine around a little longer!

Thai Dicq Shack has been a favourite spot of mine for many years, I used to gravitate straight here every day after work in past summers, you need to get down early to bag yourself a spot though.

The Dicq Shack is a B.Y.O.B. kind of place, so grab a bottle of whatever you fancy, call the gang together and head on down.

The little shack is based just on the slip way at Havre Des Pas and it’s brightly coloured benches are just begging you to come and watch the sunset. The menu is all up on the boards in the shack, so you’ll need to pop in and have a look at the extensive dishes on offer.

Once you’ve picked, simply order and take your little wooden spoon back to your table, for a good old catch up with nearest and dearest, before they call your name when your order is ready.

Service is super fast here usually, so you’ll not likely be waiting long.

My personal favourites to order here, are the Chicken Pad Thai and the Garlic Chicken Special, but I am a total wimp when it comes to spicy food, so if you can take it, definitely be a bit more adventurous than me!

You’ve gotta admit, the Garlic Chicken Special does look pretty good though!

The ladies opted for various other chicken dishes, such as Massaman curry and an extra hot Pad Thai! All coupled with perhaps more prosecco than we actually needed….!

With the autumn nights now setting in, there’s less desire to spend an evening chilling (literally!) on the beach. Don’t worry though, to keep you getting your Thai fix throughout winter, the Thai Dicq Shack will be delivering to your doorstep! Simply call them on 01534 730273.

Give them a try if you haven’t already, I promise it will soon be a summer favourite for you, too!
