We all know Easter Bank Holiday can be a very busy time; catching up with friends & family, exploring the island and generally enjoying the longer and brighter days. Which is why when Victor Hugo Wines got in touch to ask me to sample their home delivery service, I leapt at the chance!
You see, I had already invited friends round for a night of cocktails to start off the long weekend but had no idea when I was going to find time to fit in the shopping before they arrived. Enter Victor Hugo.
A very simple email exchange resulted in my order being placed and a delivery time being chosen to suit my schedule. Best of all, home delivery is totally FREE, with no minimum order! Just a few days later, a friendly gentleman arrived outside my house to make my delivery.
Following my recent stint in Grand Cayman, I had decided to introduce my friends to my favourite beach drink from my time away, the Beergarita. It’s a drink that is basically what it says on the tin, Beer and Margarita, frozen margarita that is.
A key ingredient of the frozen margarita is a good quality tequila. I opted for Patrón Reposado Tequila, which Victor Hugo kindly dropped right to my doorstep. Big thumbs up to the #VHhomedelivery service!
To make one beergarita, here are all the ingredients you will need:
- 25ml Tequila
- 25ml Triple Sec (I opted for Cointreau)
- 25ml fresh lemon juice
- 1 whole lime, squeezed
- A LOT of crushed ice
- A bottle of Desperados or Corona
The method is incredibly simple, just throw all the above into a blender except the beer, and blend. You then need a pitcher at least as tall as your bottle of beer to pour your frozen margarita into, it should only fill your pitcher around a third of the way.
Next up, pop open your beer and quickly tip it up so it’s standing in the bottom of your pitcher, submerged in frozen margarita…. yummy!
Easy peasy. Grab yourself a straw and enjoy whilst your frozen margarita gradually melts, the beer will slowly combine with it leaving you with a refreshing drink. Be warned though, they are a bit punchy! (Ahem, always drink responsibly…)
Of course, no Bank Holiday party would be complete without a little Champagne to celebrate the long weekend and a few nibbles to share. Cheese and meat obviously, chocolates were reserved for Sunday!
If you’d like to save yourself time for your next event or dinner at home, check out the Victor Hugo website and take advantage of their free delivery service, I can’t recommend them enough for helping to take the stress out of party prep! If you order before 5:00pm, they will also endeavour to get your products to you the very next working day, Monday to Friday. Cheers to that!
